MANDEVILLE CANYON ADU

This proposed design for an accessory dwelling unit in Brentwood, Los Angeles, is conceived as a contemporary guest home that supports intergenerational living while addressing the area’s low-density housing patterns. The design intentionally contrasts the existing primary residence, using a modern architectural language to establish a distinct yet complementary identity on the site. Clean lines, open interiors, and generous glazing create a light-filled, flexible living environment suited for extended family or long-term guests. By introducing a compact, thoughtfully designed secondary residence, the project explores how ADUs can provide meaningful additional housing while enhancing the spatial and architectural character of established residential neighborhoods.
